Appropriate advertisements in IIS?

Are these appropriate to appear on IIS pages?
All for the other persons point of view but find it a bit odd.

I'm not sure what you are pointing out Allan? It just maybe domestic blindness creeping up on me but could you elaborate?

I think Allan is referring to the margin ads for numerology and astrology.

Numerology birth charts and Zodiac Horoscopes in an astronomy site?
Small ads seen on right hand side of enclosed screen grabs

The ads must be generated by keywords.
There's been some dodgy ones now and then.

Probably Google generated like at the Newspaper shop where astronomy is lumped in with the paranormal, ufos and other fringe pursuits

Google dynamically displays ads based on keywords on the page, but is also affected by how much the advertiser pays google.

Astrology/numerology businesses would likely target "astronomy" related keywords because they are so often confused by the general public.

Well, I dont mind these, at least its better than on other sites when you search for say " Chilean Earthquake" and you get these stupid ads along the side that blurt "BUY Cheap Chilean Earthquakes on dumbauction.com" or "Find the best price on Chilean Earthquakes, FREE Quotes"

I mean, really, can the graduate web designers at least TRY a bit harder than that?

Cheers

Chris

Hey - if they are willing to pay for ads where they are least likely to be effective - I say let them be parted from their cash!!
