Mercury and Moon rising, 12Feb10

Hi all,

I got up at 4:15 this morning and went down to the local park to photograph a nice conjunction of the Moon and Mercury. Here's the result. This is a series of images taken about 3 minutes apart, between about 4:30 and 4:50 am. Images were stacked using the Startrails software. Hope you like the result.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,
Stephen

Lovely work Stephen, that's very nice indeed.

I didn't realise Mercury was up already!

Great work Stephen, not sure which one I like better as they're both so good. What's the secret in being able to get up so early ?

Top Stuff Stephen,

Arrrr, the early morning, best part of the day, that is unless you haven't yet been to bed from the previous day.

Love your presentation, looks just so good. Extremely well done.
Thanks for sharing.

Regards
Trevor

Yup, this is what I got to see driving to work, I couldn't figure what "Star" it was next to the moon, Well I'm happy to say thanks to your picture, it was the first time I've known myself to see Mercury.....

Thanks and well done

Trent

Thanks for the comments everyone!! Much appreciated!

It's been a while since I've had an early morning photo session, and so it was nice to get out there again. Best part of the day I think!

Cheers,
Stephen

You have imaged what I saw going to work that very mornng.
I almost ran the car off the road a few times trying to get a better look at them as I was driving.

Well done .
