Rigel Quickfinder problem.

OK, I thought the Rigel Quickfinder had some good features, and I bought one, and I unfortunately find it isn't real good to look through! In fact it is worse than the $12 red dot gunsight I bought!

This is what the reticule looks like in it. Makes me rub my eyes after a few seconds!

The other problem is it has shocking parallax error, even when moving slightly off center. Might as well as stick some chewy on the finder scope! Pics to follow to show how bad the paralax error is.

Mine might be a dud, but as it is I wish I bought a Telrad instead .

So does it throw concentric circles or a dot? The second shot looks as though its a pinpoint.

I know people who have them and none of them have complained (that I've heard) about them being like you describe.

Does anything rattle - i.e. is anything potentially loose or misplaced that would affect its focus at infinity?

Send it back, get another. You probably got a particularly bad one. But they are indeed not quite as well made as the Telrads. Mine has little parallax error but not enough to be a concern though. Also the reflection is not as clean and sharp as the with telrad; it needs to be dimmed to tame the ghost image from the second air-glass interface.

Yes it looks to be a dud. The spacing between the reticle and the lens has changed, so the rings are out of focus & there is unacceptable parallax.

Please provide an address we can mail a replacement to.

Hi Leon..good to see backup of a product...but the OP's post was in Feb 2008.

I suppose pointing this out doesn't help at all.

Oops meant to say...the natives are sometimes friendly.
