Try this optical illusion

At night in the early evening when it gets dark look up at the Milky way and you will see it bent then turn around 180 degrees and look at it again and it bends the other way but it only happens when it is directly overhead.

I posted this in the science part of the forums but there was no explanations except for the lovely amber ale.

Cheers Kev.

How can you all mock Kev. He is trying to put forward a genuine, valid scientific experiment to put to the test, and he is asking for our assistance. Show some respect, people. I have read this before Kev, I think it was your original post. Interesting

By the way Kev, how many cans did it really involve?

Can we put this to the test at SV? I'll try to test it the weekend.

It's the way your eyeball works.
The image will curve at the edges since we have a wide FOV (almost 170 deg).
So when you turn around (and since it's directly overhead) you will see it curve again but this time the other way, but it's the same way in your reference fov.

Now I'm off to get some lemons for tonight's Whiskey Sours.
