LMC with Dust or Gradients?

Clear all night and 60% Moon was low in the North.

Canon 5DH, Canon 300mm F2.8L at f/5. Hutech LPR filter, fridge at -10C, ISO 400.
Exposures 10x2min, 10x4min, 20x8min. Improved HDR method.

I think it is dust. More data will tell.

not sure bert as some of the area is greenish in colour, though the bottom right may be dust?

i think its dust.. i've seen it in my images taken under mag 6+ skies

I think all galaxies are way way bigger than shown clearly in most astro images. You see the occasional really deep shot like these LMC images and they inevitably show a huge halo of stars strewn around the outer reaches of the galaxy. Mike's Cent A shows that.
