Never made it back!

As a few members will remember I was supposed to be visiting Oz mid June...
Well, never made it. Ended up in hospital, intensive care for two weeks with a serious virus infection instead!
Lost 7 Kg!!
Anyway, I've just been released to go home and remain in isolation for the next ten days. Then more tests; if OK then I should be "released" to try and get back to normality.
Only allow ten minutes on the computer every day, so I haven't been getting involved with any of the threads.
Hope to be able to catch up with friends and the family later in the year.
If nothing else, a scare like this makes you re-assess what IS important in your life.

Sorry to hear that, Ken. I just thought you must've been in-communicado.

Take care and get well soon.

Al.

Sorry to hear about your health woes and it’s a big relief to know you’ve pulled through, so best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.

Cheers

Thanks for all the words of encouragement.
They tested for Swine, but think the test was done too late ( after 4 days of >40 fever) they found other viruses and put me through a whole range of medications etc etc etc. My arm's were black and blue from the elbow to the wrist will all the tubes, daily blood samples, drips etc.
Anyway, hopefully that's all behind me and the tests next week will be 100% OK.

Merlin66: First of all, I am in no way a Mung Bean, however, beg, borrow, or steal a juicer. Juice up carrot, beetroot, OJ, apple and Ginger. Have this 3 times a day to repair the blood clotting in your arm as well as the virus. It actually works.

Emphasis is on the Beetroot and Ginger!!! The rest is just for taste.

Capsicum for vitamin C if you want to blend that too (OJ is not as good).

Beetroot is a virus killer, and believe it or not, rumored to be helpful with cancer too and takes the edge of drugs in the system as well. It also helps repair cells - great for tough competition sports like cycling.

If you want to go all-out, soak Barley for a few hours and GENTLY boil. Put it in a vegetable soup and have twice a day. Russian herbal medicine has raved about Barley for several thousand years.

Max two carrots a day, but you can't overdose on the rest.

Try that for two weeks and see how you go.

Get well
Mark

Pleasure.

Between the medication (possibly antibiotics) and the 'nutrient', I reckon you'll feel like the Incredible Hulk in no time.

Ken,
What a nightmare!
Remember, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
Keep on the mend.

As Mr Gump said " life is like a box of chocolates...you never know what you're going to get!"

Never take anything for granted; live everyday as if it were the last.....
At least I can get up and walk around, for a little while...

A most excellent philosophy.
I agree whole heartedly.
