Sunspots!!

The clouds parted for about 10 minutes this afternoon. Just long enough for me to whip out the Mini Tower, do a quick align and a rough focus. Managed to get 30 or so images before the clouds closed in again.

Canon 20d
ISO 100
13 frames at 8000th sec exposures
Stacked in Registax 4

Nothing special, but it is a record of the occasion.

Pretty darn good for a " rough focus" there Jeanette.

What filter did you use?

Just waiting for the clouds to open up for me too. This group is worthy of me getting out the solar scope. It is developing nicely and very quickly. New cycle stuff too.

Nice shot JJJ and I hope you can get some more.

It's a generic white light filter Geoff.

Same type of filter I have, Jeanette. The first chance I get won't be until Thursday but in my area it looks like there won't be any fine weather until Saturday. When the cloud clears I hope to be ready!

Very nice. I'd be happy with that. Maybe I'll get a chance to try soon.

"Fun in the Sun"

Managed to get some images in Ha and white light. The seeing is absolutely terrible!!!
Some interesting Proms around as well. At least two small groups ( of three and four spots, with lots of detail!!!!)

It'd be great to have some focal length and get up closer to them.
I crave more detail.

AR11019 and some proms

Jeanette,
Your wish is but my command!

May have been a bright clear day over here, but the seeing was TERRIBLE.
Gave up fighting.....
SM60 double stack on ED80, BF15, DMK21; around f25
Still trying to salvage some of the others!!
(If you are paying attention...you'll see one of the AR images is actually a negative... to show better the magnetic lines...prizes for guessing which one!!)
