Good feedback so far.
I'm taking my mum out for mothers day on sat night to an expensive restaurant... under the pretense that we're going to see Star Trek, she rolled her eyes when I told her.... haha.
Maybe she will get a kick out of this movie afterall?

I'm also pleased to see the current cast and director have signed on for several more films....Seems like Star Trek is in good hands for a while.
Excellent point Matt. I was kind of hoping this new crew would continue to do more. I felt so strongly about it (your second paragraph), that I held back a little on my review, but really enjoyed it with as much pasion as Chris did. It really did turn out to be "Excellent"! All things considered.

Jeanette you will love it, we went last night and I was expecting it to be great- it surpassed my expectations in so many ways. I won't say anything at all to pre-empt your viewing pleasure of this other than this: that as a pretty hard core Trek fan I was so pleased that there were numerous little "things" everywhere that paid homage to the original series, the characters, other Trek movies, etc. Just all those nice little touches that leave you afterwards realising just how much attention they paid to writing the script, etc.

Wonderful stuff - will be buying this on BluRay instead of DVD when it comes out - worth the extra money, which almost no movies are in my opinion.

Just saw it today and although one has to suspend brain function on a few minor matters, the cinematography, directing, sets and cgi are first class.

Top shelf entertainment for both trekkies and non trekkies alike.

rollicking good fun, non stop action pretty much.

dont let the exact science bother you... just enjoy the spectacle, nice CGI and as some one who has seen all the star trek films they did go to some effort to continue the time lines.

wont drop any spoilers..... enjoy

Hi Liz we used to have cinemas here but they pulled it down and replaced it with Aldi (stupid mistake) Yeah Bendigo would have to be the closet cinema to us or Mildura, i think Echuca might have one too im not sure Yeah a baby sitter for the night would be good but if i managed to do that i would proberly go to the pub instead hahaha

Same problem here Jen, nearest cinema is in Perth, 4 1/2 hours away.
Will have to wait for the DVD.
But, just had the truck deliver my Trek collection today, so can console myself with some "oldies"

Have a look on Ebay PCH, original series box sets are there at a reasonable price. Got them, and the Animated Series, from there
(Got all of the Trek series and movies, including most of the fan films. But then, I'm a Trekky from way back )
