First Saturn for the season, and for my C11!

Hi everyone...

Firstly... Absolutely stoked to see clear skies in Brisbane!!

Seeing, not too bad... not too great..
Transparency, about the same.
Humidity - Off the scale!

C11, 2x barlow, DBK31 on EQ6 Pro.

First planetary image with the C11.. Very excited... Its nothing special, but given the conditions, I think its actually fairly good.. Above the tip of the rings on the left, Titan!! My first time capturing one of Saturns moons!

Ahhh.. Aperture is sweet...

Alex.

Nice one Alex. I just read your "What do you do" escapade with glee as well.
Now once it is "up there" you will be laughing.
Maybe I need a decent planet cam after all.

Nice capture!

Last night, I dont know if anyone was out at 3am in Perth, but the ISS passed Saturn by 1-2degrees.

I watched it last night slowly drifting above and then turn towards Saturn in the NE.

Hmmm. Never seen the ISS change direction or 'turn' before. It usually maintains a constant path.

Anyhoo...good work, Alex. I admire your commitment, in the face of obviously less than ideal conditions.

Not bad Alex, it's a little bit too green for my liking but a good start to the season.

It was amazing to view it in Rick's 10" Dob the other night at the Pony Club.
I can't wait to try and get some images too, now that the rings are edge on.

Thanks guys... yes it is perhaps a bit green (being red/green color blind makes planetary processing hell)

I've got about 32gb more data to sift through, we'll see I go... After seeing the limitations of the DBK31's framerate for the first time last night, I think I might be in the market for a DMK21 and filters soon... :S

Cheers.
Alex.

Great work Alex. Some nice detail showing.

I love the image scale! I'm so used to my C8 + 2x barlow image scale, which doesn't even compete to your C11's.

Anyway, keep it up and I'm looking forward to more.

Jen.. In the mean time, you could work out how to make a saturn mosaic using emoticons!
