Orion Nebula (First Light DSI II)

Hi,

well as in my last post I thought I would share my first shot of the Orion Nebula using my new DSI II - first night out. I used my LX200 GPS 10", 3.3 ccd focal reducer, and took 50, 30sec shots, stacked in envasge. I used photoshop to stretch the image and enhance contrast.

I thought I would also show the difference between the DSI and the DSI II by attaching the Orion shot through the DSI with the same gear. A big difference!

OK, a big difference, good upgrade, but you would do well attempting guideing and longer exposures now you have a better cam, that would produce far better images than the diff between cams.

Huge diference between the two cameras. Guiding will make the next big jump and improve the image immencely. Longer exposures seems to be the way to go.

Keep at it.

Nice captures Paul, The DSI II was certainly a big improvement over the original. I find it to be a very capable little camera.

Cheers
