Time to put on a late nighter tonight.....or an early morninger depending on how you look at it I guess.
Ok details. Canon 300D (or 20D depending on if I want to muck around later getting the colour balance right
) probably mounted piggy back and tracking on my G8. Or maybe not. I've never really tried for meteor showers before. Would it be more like lightening? Use a tripod, keep the lens open until trailing would be noticeable, terminate the shot and start the next one.
Anyway, my real question is; what lens would be suitable. I guess it depends on the distance that the meteors are reaching across the sky. I have a 17-40mm @ 17mm (54° X 81°) but would that be too wide and make the meteors appear too small and just streaks? Or would I be better with my nifty 50 (17.2° X 26°) or my 85 (10° X 15.4°) and go for more size on the elusive suckers?
