A ghostly presence in the room...

The "TeleGizmos" ghost, that is

Thanks to Geoff (Asterisk), who arranged one for himself as well, I now have a nice new reflective and water resistant scope cover from TeleGizmos USA. It's quite huge, and the unit now misses the ceiling by 6 inches. It's a Celestron C8 with Takahashi FS60-C guidescope on top all resting on the Losmandy G11 with legs fully extended.

I had it custom made by TeleGizmos so that there's room for two scopes mounted side by side under the cover, which is why it's baggy with just one. Very nicely constructed seams and the material looks quite durable. Should be fantastic for keeping the dust and sun off during the day at star parties, and for keeping the heavy morning dew off over night (if I'm not hanging off the end of the camera that is). Well priced at AU$77.00 landed.

Looks great Chris, I have been looking around for something like this to cover my setup.

Do you have a link?

Thanks Chris.

What would you recommend for my setup?

I didn't but I did fold the seam and overstitch it. In normal dewing situations moisture coming through the seams isn't a problem. I haven't had it out in heavy rain but have had a light shower with no problems. AFAIK tents made from ripstop don't have any seam sealing. The stuff I used was silver ripstop fly material.

G'Day Matty

They have a standard size for an equatorially-mounted 10" SCT - so a tiny bit baggy on an 8", ut that's OK. Geoff bought one of these and it cost him around the AU$66 landed if I recall. We bought ours at the same time, so we shared the AU$24 shipping fee.

I looked at a few places - the only one which offered custom sizing and not stock only was:

http://yhst-1469288697390.stores.yah.../tesoscco.html

I emailed the required measurements for Chris' and mine to Victor. He quoted the custom sizes and shipping cost. The whole process from ordering to delivery was about 10 days.

Cheers
