Two huge volcanic eruption in Sth America , expect rich sunsets and sunrizes .

If I remember correctly, a month or so after Pinotubu blew , the sun sets and sun rises were superbly rich in colour - all the dust and gas in the upper atmosphere ....

I wonder how long it will take for the dust and gas to disperse so we see an effect here (in Australia) ? if we will see an effect ?

Cameras at the ready ....

Sounds great for terrestrial photographers, but I am sure the astrophotoghers aren't too pleased!

I think the effects from Mt Pinatubo lasted for well over a year and effected most of the Earth.
It was not very good for Astronomy, it was like a permanent "Jet Stream"

Yes - it will have an effect .

But many astrophotographers are also keen general photographers , and if we have any bright comets while the effects are still apparent , the photos will be even more stunning.
