IC4628 The Red Banana

Hi Guys,

Took this afew nights ago of IC4628 during the early hours. It is 8 x 7 minutes at ISO 400. This object doesnt consist of much surface area, just a smooth red thing.

Nice job Eric That is the most definition on that region of any of the pictures I could track down of this object. It sure does seem to get overlooked.

Very nice Eric, I haven't seen much of this one but the nebulosity and the dark regions around the bottom of the image look quite interesting.

Hi Eric,

When are you going to post the mosaic of the entire night sky at your focal length, by now you must have imaged every single object known to man, and all of the bits inbetween

Another fine image Eric.

We have this one on our list haven't got round to it yet. It's called the Prawn Nebula and in your image in part of the lower right there's perhaps the prawn head and eyes

I think it should be called the Yabbi Nebula - the claws are at the top with the body in the middle of them and extending down the image...see it

Nice work Eric and I would like to see your whole sky mozaic at the FL too, when you have finished it

Thanks citvolus. yes it does get overlooked quite often. I guess it is pretty low in the horizon currently.

Many thanks Ric. Yes, there are quite alot of fainter dust lane details on the bottom of this neb.

oh no! ive missed the head. it does look like a prawn, i thought M17 is the prawn/omega/swan nebula also?
