SkyshedPOD Umbrella

While I am waiting for the SkyshedPOD I put this on the deck. Not only does it keep the rain off but the hot Sun as well.
It does not pass the redneck wind test.

That's a very nice observing set up you've got there Bert – very impressive indeed. Did you design and build the platform, pier, etc.?

Read all about it here Dennis. I dont think I would have managed without expert help. I designed the pier and had it fabricated locally. The idea of the tapered gussets is to minimise vibration harmonics.

Aahhh, thanks Bert, I remember the “Dingo did it thread now”. A great how to resource for others embarking on a project that really all of us should do, to make observing/imaging so much easier, and fun!
