Nov 24 - election humour

This is not a political statement - it's a JOKE right! Please take it in the manner intended - humourous. We're Australian, and as such are capable of laughing at anything even remotely funny - whether we believe in it or not! Taking the "p***" out of each other is Australian as it gets.

The libs have taken a hammering, rightly or wrongly - so here's one for them.

Anyone able to supply a counter-joke?
------------------------------------------

A bloke in a hot air balloon realises that he is lost. He reduces his altitude and spots a man fishing in a boat below.

He shouts to the other man below: "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet her an hour ago, but now I don't know where I am, or which way to go to get there."

The man below consults his GPS and replies: "You are in a hot air balloon hovering approximately 10 metres above the ground elevation of 115 metres above mean sea level. You are at 34 degrees, 34*97 minutes south latitude and 150 degrees, 34*52 minutes east longitude.

The balloonist rolls his eyes and says: "You must be a Liberal voter!"

"I am," says the fisherman. "How did you know?"

"Well," answers the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you're not much help to me! If anything, you've delayed my trip."

The man below smiled and replies, "You must be a Labor voter."

"I am," the balloonist said, "how did you know?"

"Well," the other man says, "you don't know where you are, where you are going, or how to get there. You've risen to where you are due to a large quantity of warm air. You made a promise you have no idea how to keep, and now you expect me solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but now, somehow, it's still all my fault."

Is this necessary? Sexist? The original referred to their respective politics - not their sex. OK - Context of original changed to suit some.... sheesh! LOL!

I'm not sure where my post asked for insults to be thrown.... but if some must, I guess they must!

It certainly seemed a lot more pertinent and funny in its original context of the manager/engineer roles.

As someone else started this off, I can now feel safe in saying that I am sooooooo looking forward to watching a certain politicians concession speech, and if he loses his seat it will be perverse joy of immense proportions

yeh it seemed like usual stuff

labor voter = dumb, lib voter = smart, too me

if this joke was from an actual genuine impartial fence sitter, i wouldnt take notice, but i dont think it was impartial. srry

Hey Geoff its either a big party to end all parties this sat night around here, or another very sad and depressing one like, the previous 4 elections were,
or yet more of the wolves and the lambs scenario

I shall at this stage politely remind one and all of the terms of service.

Avoid topics about race, politics or religion. These can be very sensitive topics and it can be very easy to take things the wrong way, creating arguments.
I'm sure those who would like to discuss the likely outcome would be able to be far more expressive if the discussion were kept to PMs.

Sure Paul. The post was meant to be a humorous one with the "subject" being politics itself, which is why I asked for a "counter" joke. I guess that in hindsight people will not take it that way, and for that I apologise. I'd also ask that you lock the topic at this point to avoid further confusion.
