M42 16-10-07

Hi all

Been a while since I have posted any images. I spent a long night until sunrise last week doing some shots and this is one of them. Bit noisy as I shot at iso1600 and I was limited to fairly short exposures ( 25sec ) before star trails became a problem .... anyway.

basic structure is pretty good, lower iso levels will certainly help but as you probably know you will need to get the tracking right to work on those longer exposures.

Very nice - love the ghostly colours and atmosphere of this image, a stellar birth place extraordinaire. Very impressive for short exposures at high ISO with such a large range of brightness to cope with – well done.

Cheers
