Talking Finally!!! Something from the 40D!

Hello...
After bad polar alignment, thick cloud, wind (pardon me!) and the Moon, I finally got something decent out of this expensive camera!!!

Lagoon and Tarantula Nebulae.

Both images: Prime focus ED80...iso 800...sRAW...10x30sec exposures ICNR, Unguided...stacked in Images Plus...touched up in PS.
Sorry - not exactly in the middle of the frame either!!

Autoguiding set-up arrives soon! Will go deeper...I hope!

Cheers all
Doug

Great results from the first try with your new camera Doug.

Looking forward to some fantastic images once you can go deeper with auto guiding.

Doug I may get blasted out of the water for this, but i reckon that PS Actions stuff is really a waste of time, although i tried it once i have deleted the lot, i feel it is not the right way of improving images, please correct me if I'm out of line here.

Tend to agree leon, although they're fun I don't think I'm learning anything solid about processing by pressing the button and waiting for it to work!

One can examine the action to break down what's happening I suppose, kind of like a step by step tutorial.

They are a very easy way to slip into the realm of the over-processed I have found.

Use sparingly!

You're being a processing fundamentalist leon!
