The Eta Carinae Nebula (NGC 3372) in Carina
Hi all,
Apologies for the lack of participation on the forum and events; I've been extremely busy with work and life.
Here's one from my stay over at Zane's observatory in late January.
Read and view here.
Warning: file is approximately 1.17 MB in size.
As always, comments and critique welcome.
Regards,
Humayun

Cheers, mate. Nice shots the other night at CAS. Was hoping to catch up with you after the meeting, but, I think you must have left during the latter half of the meeting.

Top notch
Now THAT is what a DSLR image "should" look like!
Lots of exposure and very nicely processed - well done!
Perhaps a bit red maybe, more magent is needed but still excellent!

Great to see your work again, H!
Beautiful star colours in the background. An amazing array. If only that level of colour was visible at the eyepiece!

Mike,
It's always great to receive praise from yourself.
I agree, it's a tad too red. I'll go back and have another play around with it and see if I can't do better.
Here's to the next image outdoing this one.

Eric,
How's it going, mate? Cheers for the compliment.
Unfortunately, it's not my telescope. It belongs to Zane Hammond at Magellan Observatory. I borrowed it for the night.

Rod,
The last version, you mentioned was wearing bright red lipstick. This one has toned it down a little, but, needs more magenta.
I'm quite happy with the way the stars turned out, as well.
The Bok Globules looked incredible through Zane's 24" Dobzilla. I'd imagine the views would be similar through your new toy. Congratulations on the new addition to the family.

David,
It was a lot of effort, but, it's so much fun when it all works and the results speak for themselves.
