Mars from Tuesday night 11th of March

My attempted a Mars from Tuesday night 11th of March, not bad considering the conditions.

Fantastic image Anthony, excellent resolution.


I have a beginner question, if I may: did you use an IR pass filter (e.g. IR850) for this? It looks almost (but not completely) monochrome.

Hi Dekker

Just used a standard ZWO UV/IR filter for most of my work. Still researching other filters like the one you mentioned to go on to my wish list.

It was a bit of a quick and dirt process. Just staked the top 10% of 22000 frames, used the drizzle function on Astrostakk to increase size by 1.5x. Balance colour and move a couple of slides in Registax and left it at that. I wasn’t hoping for much due to upper atmosphere turbulence.
