its been a while since i was luny - breaking the drought

OMG, its rained and this afternoon it finally cleared up, and i managed to have a chance to get in the dome. i forgot how it felt, i really thought i was dreaming. the seeing was calm, but you could still see the moisture in the air just after sunset. 82% luminated. took a while to readjust to using the mount and software again. anyway here is my hack. room for improvements but it feels bloody lovely to be imaging again

I know what you mean. We had a clear sky for a few hours last night - it was like re-living a childhood experience - so rare.

Nice moonage. I always like how you manage to present a pumice-like surface texture and retain resolution, shading and detail.

Full size image is double this one. Thanks for the positive praises, it's a fine art and nearly forgotten how I get there sometimes. The seeing was calm right at dusk so I think it helps a bit. Might get brave one night and try more different settings

Good to be able to image again. Great moon shot David. We too had a small break in the clouds late today and into the early evening and saw that moon. First night in ages and it did feel good

We too are living in hope for Tuesday - looking very unlikely from the forecast but tonight wasn't meant to happen either, so who knows.

Well, you're one step ahead of everyone else, waiting for Tuesday's "Blood Moon".

Hi David, that is a nice clean image. Lots of contrast and fine detail. What camera and exposure did you use. Steve

well it was a ser video file of 3000 frames and i set the exposure to the brightest crater, it does vary each night. then processed in autostakkert3 and then registax6 then a tweak in PS. so really cant give you a exposure setting camera is a asi183mcpro on a williams optics flt132
