One with the lot - Do you want Fries with that?

When is an ED80 over-done?

When it gets like this!!!

All I have put on it is a laser pointer and an Orion Accufocus (I got the beasty to fit) and it looks cluttered! Glad I don't have to put anything else on it. There'd be no room.

Oops, I gotta put the Toucam in it too

Very Nice Ken. You may want to add a telrad, red dot fnder, daisy gun sight, dew zapper anti-dew system, Peltier cooling system, AO-7 adaptive optics and maybe a signature by Galileo

Looks more like millitary hardware now than a humble amateur astronomer's scope.

Yep Steve, the scope just lines up Asteroids or pesky Aliens. The laser shoots at them

Ken,

Very impressive - definitely a WMD (weapon of mass distraction!)

I would love to have the option of mounting my laser on my dob.
How have you done yours?
They look like an adjustable set of rings which would be ideal. Where did you get them?

Regards

Glenn

Glenn,

because I cringe at the thought of drilling holes in OTA's I made a plate to run from ring to ring and used the holes already in the rings. Then I mounted the Laser holder onto that.

The rings originally came from Bintel.

I find that the laser is a very useful teaching aid. Last month at SVAA I used it as a finder and the others could see in the sky where the scope was looking before they saw the object in the scope. Great for learning where to find stuff.

You've created a monster Ken.

All you need now is some spaghetti cabling from dew removers, CCD cameras, autoguiders...
It will come alive!!!
