Very nice Rodney - love that you've maintained colour in the stars so well.

Nice job and welcome to the Cen A club, a great start. Not toooo far to go to reach Rolfs meager efforts. Some excellent colour there Rodney, the strong yellow in the dust lane looks good. It does look a little soft though, perhaps the seeing? have you tried some sharpening? ..watch that decon though .....

* Yes, I figured that you would have recognised this one

Not toooo far to go to reach Rolfs meager efforts.
* 9.5 hours v. 120 hours. Hmmm, some way to go me thinks. Best get cracking

Some excellent colour there Rodney, the strong yellow in the dust lane looks good.
* Thanks for that, I did add some extra colour enhancement to the core towards the end of processing to try and bring this out

It does look a little soft though, perhaps the seeing? have you tried some sharpening?
Now this is most interesting. If I didn't know better I would swear that you must have been looking over my shoulder this afternoon as I was working on the image and debating this exact point to my self. . I did actually try some unsharp mask but wasn't happy with it even when I tried to tone it down so I backed it out again. Also, I find these days that I seem to lean more towards the 'softer' look as I find that too much sharpening can make the images look too hard and unnatural.

In end what made my mind up was that when the image is displayed on my Dell 21" monitor (1920x1080px) the resolution and relative sharpness of the image looks fine so I decided to stop fiddling. Of course, this doesn't take into account monitor calibrations, larger resolutions monitors, ICC profiles and the like but that would lead us down another rabbit hole so I won't bring that up ...

Thanks again Mike.

It looks quite good Rodney It isn't something that I have imaged yet so I don't actually know what it is. If I haven't imaged it, it doesn't exist

Thanks Colin, looks like you will have to put it on the target list.
