Last night (Tuesday) was the clearest skies I have had since getting my 12".
Not a breath of wind, absolutely crystal clear skies and NO MOON!
I decided this is the night to push the scope.
First, I put in the 30mm SV and 'POW!' Galaxies with neon signs on them saying "Here I am".
Righty-o, I'll test you. Inserted the 6.5mm Plossl! COOOOOL!!
I think I may have been a bit too judgemental on these Series 500 EP's.
Observing M65, 66, 95, 96, Sombrero, Centaurus A, Tarantula, globs, etc, etc, and the views stayed bright and clear!
Planets were too clear to beleive there distance.
I swung around to find Sthn. Pinwheel (M83) and couldn't find anything??? There was a solid wall of fog moving straight towards me drifting over from the small lake up the road!
Very eerie sight. That put an end to my excellent night.
I am pleased to say that viewing galaxies at 6.5mm is very thrilling and exiting!! (my dark location helps)
How did your night go?

looked out side at about 9 and it was wall to wall cloud. 11pm came and i decided to hit the sack... clear as out side! I am battling a cold at the moment so I doubt i would have headed out anyhow.
Monday night (annoyed me: naughty words edited) so much. I thought the clouds were clearing (about 1/3 coverage at the time) so I put the scope outside and ate dinner. When I finish and go outside the sky is overcast! *#$@!
I haven't been able to use the scope for ages.
