Thumbs up First full run from last night - 12th June

Hi all

Here's the first of the fully processed Jupiters from a good session last night.

It was my first run in 2 weeks, since bad weather and platform problems prevented any imaging lately.

Seeing was very good, approx 8/10. Ambient was around 6.5deg, mirror about 0.8deg warmer.

This image was from 7:35pm local time, or 09:35UT.

I took 10 avi's in total, and it's likely a short animation will come in the next few days.

Needless to say, i'm very pleased with this image.

Looks good Mike! It's interesting to look at the differences in the colour channels.

Seeing was very ordinary up here last night - very few stable clear frames. I haven't processed anything yet... tonight!

Al.

Fantastic Mike.

Interesting how the blue channel shows the detail inside the GRS.

You have even got different toning inside junior.

Good that you and David got good conditions, the animation will be good.

Wow - no signs of being rusty at the controls after a 2 week hiatus. An excellent image with an amazing amount of detail with heaps to look at - there is a lot going on here!

Cheers

Dennis.

Thanks guys

The ToUcam is not in retirement until I get up and running with the DMK, which should arrive this week or next.

Great images Mike

And I'm gutted!!!

I was all set up last night for my first big night of imaging with the ToUcam in the 9.25. I've carried out the 900nc upgrade. Got the cam ready to capture in Optimised Colour (non RAW).

Scope out for hours cooling.

The moment I spy Jupiter in the eyepiece and it's looking goooooood...

bang... boom....fizz!!!!!!!

Every man and his feral kids are letting off fireworks, egad!

That's right. It's fireworks (Queen's Birthday) long weekend in the ACT. The only State in the entire country where it's legal.

And because of the bad weather for most of the weekend last night's clear night was the cue for lunatics to take over the assylum!

They let off every firework they'd stored up during the rainy nights earlier in the weekend.

There was that much gunpowder smoke in the air I thought we were at war.

I'm not kidding. neighbours to the left ... neighbours to the right...and to the south...

All with bonfires as well.

I sat in the house, all night, plotting my revenge
