F1 on Friday

Here are a few shots I took at the Melbourne Grand Prix on Friday.
This one is the sharpest one of the lot (I took 400 photos). Getting a sharp picture is not as easy as it seems. At this point the cars are doing about 300 km/h (just before braking for turn 11) and I got as close to the fence as I could, so panning with the car becomes a form of excercise.
100 kB filesize limitations and 800x600 really sucks for good pics. I didn't want to compress this one anymore because I was getting artifacts.

Another OK one.

Ferrari didn't drive much on Friday. Probably because of the retarded two GPs per engine rule.

Got a shot of the Roulettes flying very close. There are others but from a longer distance.

Thanks.
It's a Canon G3.
I need a teleconverter for it because the focal length is too short for cars and planes at a distance.

Speaking of flash, I saw some people in the grandstands using flash when taking photos of the cars about 50 m away in sunny conditions. Funny buggers.

Give me a moment. I will find the best one of him and post it.
Edit:

Hmm, nearly all of my Williams shots are of Heidfeld. Don't know how that happened.

Most excellent shots Mig.

The 100k file size limit is at least higher than the 60k limit for the rest of the forum. I know these are hosted off-site, but there's quite a few members here still on dialup.

Feel free to link to a full/higher-res version, just be sure to warn people how big it is.

I love the roulette's shot.

Nice shots Mig, if compressing them bothers you why not post small samples and link to some webspace where you can store the full size images. Then we can fully appreciate your photographic genius......
