Best seeing this opposition so far; in fact seeing got even better later but Mars was getting behind the tree for me, so for steadiest seeing I imaged Saturn
At least I managed to bag the Encke visually. At 680x it was getting rather dim in C11, but at fleeting moments the seeing was exceptional and I
just managed to see the impossibly thin line at both ansae of the ring.
This is now the smallest aperture I've seen it with. Considering how compromised C11 really is, I now tend to believe that top flight 10" Newtonian with small secondary or an 8" APO is about the smallest aperture to show the Encke gap.
