102 mm refractor

102 mm refractor telescope.
made in japan
An older classic japanese made multicoated 4 inch refractor
includes tube rings.
focal length 900 mm
no stand or tripod. OTA tube only.

In response to questions this refractor is the same as the bintel 102 refractor which was sold 20 years ago. it can be found in the december 1993 issue of sky and space
pages 50 -51.
Don't throw away your old astronomy magazines as you never know whether an old top quality telescope may turn up!

Love the detective work! Well done. Hmmm, can we trust a review from Peter Ward?

Odd question - could you measure the diameter of the dew shield please? That badge ALMOST looks like one of the Vixen Custom badges, but without the Vixen title.

Is there damage to the focuser wheels? Seem like some nicks/small gouges. I take it it is a 1.25" focuser?

Diameter of the dew shield is 118 mm
no damage to the focuser wheels. It is just a bit dusty from storage in the wooden box.

yep it is a 1.25" focuser
