My fantasy image.

Hi,

This is the first time I've attempted combining images to create what would be a perfect scene for me.

It's a combination of comet Lovejoy from Dec 2011 a sunset shot after a storm and my 18mm widefield of the milky way.

I'm happy with this image for a first attempt.

Cheers,

Justin

Well done.

Really nice but my brain is struggling a bit with the red foreground. Maybe if you added Mars the size of the full moon it would explain the red glow

I am particularly impressed by how you've blended the comet over the Milky Way.

Thanks Steve!

I used Louie Atalasidis tutorial on masking, thanks Louie!.

There are probably other ways to do it but this worked well.

There's a reason for the foreground having a red tinge, it's a sunset shot after a storm.

See image.

As I said, fantasy image reflects my taste.

Cheers,

Justin.

Your boss would have to be happy with that body.

I had a play with PaintShopPro myself, trying to translate Louie's great tutorial
(big fan of your stuff btw Atalas!)
PSP doesn't quite handle layers and masks exactly like PS.
I will have a go on my daughter's computer, that has PS, thanks
Justin!
