This image is the very first from this new camera. I bought a 9.1mp Point Grey Research Grasshopper3 to eliminate the need for mosaics in future.

Not a really fast camera but fast enough to capture 5 fps for 2 minutes. Pretty happy overall with the camera and this being a test; it looks like a great camera. Now for some good seeing.

Looks good to me Paul. What is your image file size for a two minute capture?

That is a great camera for discs - lots of details and even illumination - and quicker than mosaics. Looking forward to seeing what it can do under good conditions!

A two minute capture is 5.6 gig, 150 seconds is 6.4 gig. As you can see it gets pretty chunky quick.

That is my thinking Matt. Full disk at high res with one video. I am yet to sort barlows. The barlow I used for this is a Siebert optics but I just don't think it is as sharp as the 2x TV. To get the TV to work as full disk I will need to get an adapter made up to reduce the metal back distance to reduce the image scale.

Yes it is John. The proms where in this shot but I chose to rip into the curves just to see the detail on the surface. I just did not do a mask to bring out the proms again. I was doing this with the last PGR camera too which is a similar generation to this camera. The beauty of it though is that I now can use USB3 instead of firewire.

Yeah, the USB3 is a big plus. I'm making a tower soon with all the top spec items, just for USB3..

As it is new interface John just be aware that the USB connectors and cables sometimes have SS on them. That means super speed apparently.

What bit depth are you using when capturing, Paul?

Peter I am using 14 bit for capture.

I got the camera downloading at 9 fps today. 120 seconds is 9.5 gig of avi.

Missed this one Paul. Yes agree the one shot hi res is the fix for multi panel blues. The image shows plenty of promise, now for some decent seeing!
