Woo Hoo
Just had word that my observatory arrives Friday.
Beginning to feel a sickie coming on.
Been raining like crazy in Brisbane the last few days and the mount and pier have been sitting out in it protected by plastic bags etc. At least the dog hasn't decided to remove the plastic protective cover.
Have to get this finished off before my son's wedding - lucky me!
Hi Dave, I have just read the whole of this thread and I am mighty impressed with your progress on your observatory I hope you get many hours of enjoyment out of it
Is the name "Doghouse Observatory" it's final name or do you have a more Grandiose name planned?
Fantastic job, from you and all who helped

Well since it is a sirius observatory and we have a new do i thought it might stay like that, after all Sirius is commonly known as 'the Dog Star'.
OK this is the first post from within the doghouse observatory.
yes i have finally got my network cables done and have set up Internet connection to the observatory. this means now i can image and be on the net at the same time

Sounds like you're gonna have to rename it to "Heaven Observatory". Starting to give a bad name to your standard average dog house.

LOL just wait until you see the next image with the setup LOL then reference that to Allan Goulds shot of his........and spot the difference (hint one has neat cables)
David, Just a thought.
If you removed the scope from your observatory you could fit some really great gear in there.
or
The fisheye lens certainly gives you the feeling of more space - maybe you could rig that up to your head in place of the little red light to give you more room

well Allan I am glad you brought up that fact. I have the R200SS i can use, or the ED127, not to mention a C8, a couple of ED80's......... and a useless operator
I spent last night drift aligning the mount - still haven't got it right, took ages to get focus for the toucam through the 10" then aligning the scopes on a star, then to the task at hand..... I didn't start until after 9pm when I got back from guides with Stephanie, stopped myself at midnight so it’s sitting there ready to go for later to do it again. I was way out LOL. I will say the seeing was terrible - the scintillation was atrocious.
