This, apparently, is the original from which our Eaglemoss jobs have sprung from....except that certain bits are in gold and silver.

Apologies for the delay, PeterM - took a while to prise a reply from 'em!
The answer is "No" - presently, there is no Jupiter reissue/new paint job.

That certainly looks like the one I'm building, especially in the gearing.

I put Ceres on last night .... very pleased with the way this is coming together. It's spinning beautifully.

The new Orbiter model video....

(Edit...a few hours later)
Just had another quick look at the above URL, and found that (although misnamed) there are some orrery build guide videos there now as well.

Think somebody wanted to know the overall height of the completed job - 370-odd mm, or in real money, a smidgeon under 14.75".

The UK subscribers are going to have a replacement earth/moon gear issued - the 11-toothed wheel - with the final magazine.
Don't know if you lot will have to wait until the death, or whether the publisher will slide them in an earlier issue.

You recall the question re the black plastic right-angles that are attached to the support arms?
You'll also remember that they are not part of the build as such, and are for packaging purposes only?
You'll no doubt also remember the advice given was to bin 'em?

Well don't!

A bright spark on one of the other forums has found that they might have an (unofficial) use after all....the "tube bits" of them are (for obvious reasons) a perfect size to slide along the arm, lodge between the upper and lower gear, and stop the arm from drooping.

Clever, or what?
Granted, rather ugly black plastic, but painted perhaps?

Wouldn't that interfere with the motion when the thing is running? Or perhaps I'm not understanding properly...

Correct - you're not.
Take issue 12, pages 4 and 5 as example.
Arm 05, fitted to collar 31. The longer/weightier the arms get later in the build, the collar grub screw "can't cope" and the arm can droop, sometimes bad enough to end up resting on top of gear 52, (by now flush with gear 54).
The suggested solution = cut the "tube" ends from the black plastic arm packaging. The outer diameter is same as height of collar. The inner diameter matches the arm diameter (3mm).
Slide tube along arm, "sandwich" between (in this example) gears 51 and 54, and tighten grub. The idea/plan is that the tube gives extra stability to the arm.
It shouldn't interfere with the motion because 51,31,54 and arm 05 are locked together - they are, in effect, one piece by this stage.
Yes?
No?
