Building the Worlds Fastest Car

Very interesting documentary on building the Bugatti Veyron...gotta lover German Engineering when it is at it's best although a huge reliance on the MTS Sensor that controls the rear aerofoil that contributes to 1/3 the cars breaking capability...at 253 MPH you wouldn't want the sensor to fail.

Scientific American published an interesting article years ago on the Bugatti EB110. It covered the challenges of not just the aerodynamics but the science behind creating special compounds for the road tyres as nothing existed at the time that could provide proper traction and wear for normal and high speed driving. It was a good article and well worth the read if you can find it.

At 253 mph, I wouldn't want anything to fail.
