How many Australian vendors, you know of, is currently selling ES eyepiece??

Out of curiousity, I did an search and it would appear that VTI Optics is the only one, perhaps there are more out there!!
Do any members know of any others?
It begs to ask, why there aren't others?

I think it is an exclusive distribution thing.

Either that or because ES sell direct and often discount that there is no margin in it for the local dealers.

Extra Vision claims to be the exclusive distributor for ES but they have no ES products on their online store (bottom right) on their URL,

http://www.extravision.com.au/catalog/index.php

This is like a Ford exclusive Distributor having no Ford cars in their inventory!

It does look like VTI Optics is the Only One brave enough to operate in this cut throat market!

Happy with my Explore eps

I made the jump and bought an 24mm and an 6.7mm 82D from VTI last week.
Great eyepieces and the 6.7mm box is soooo cool and funky!
Hope they are as good as they say.
Excellent service from VTI and I am one happy buyer.

VTI selling the TMB Planetary

I have to conclude that VTI do have the Explore Scientific all to themselves.
It would look like, the margin is not attractive enough for others to venture in. Now VTI has added the TMB Planetary to their list and also the Pentax SMC XF....

Astro Optical Supplies had a couple of ES eyepieces on the shelf yesterday when I dropped in for a look.

I don't think AOS put much priority into their webpage. Probably best to ring them.

My Final conclusion

This is it!
I dare say, only the recent arrival VTI Optics, is selling ES stuff of any kind.
Others are promising to sell but mere promises are just what they are.
Thanks for all your comments.

I have purchased from VTI, they were very good to deal with & the only eyepiece that I have been able to try is good, 82 degree 11mm in a 12" skywatcher. Only on the moon due to weather, still waiting to try the 18 & 24 but that won't be tonight.

The home page for Astro Petes indicates they are 'Coming Soon'

Seen that 'Coming soon' door mat for the last 7 months and it is getting a bit worn!
