NGC1365 (with SN) and friends from Snake Valley

Must have been popular at Snake Valley this year!
FLT132 / STL11K taken with more due than my due straps could cope with.

Luminance 10 shots @ 5m 1x1 Binning
RGB 6 shots @2m 2x2 Binning

Nice one Dave,
Yep almost the same framing as I did but yours is upsidown or was that mine that's upsidown .
Anyway nice work for the time we got, and you've managed a bit more clour than I but that's just my poor processing skills at work I guess.

Cheers

There was heaps more data there, connecting the loops however with the poor quality due to the dew it just blew the entire shot up showing the loop.
That central haze could not be removed with flats.

This image is a full framed luminance shot.

Nice imaging Dave. Considering the exposure time, it's a great shot!

Cheers,

Steve

I've been playing around with GradientXTerminator. This was the result in one go at medium setting.

Nice photo! I want the Sydney clouds to part so I can try too!!!

I will have to look this up and try it on the full version, I was using ccdstack flattening tool which made it worse. I also tried pix-in-sight and it created a background map which I subtracted in P.S. In the end I just dulled it down to 'hide' the problem. The issue I had was more like a flat field prob where the center was brighter than the edges in a bit of a out of shape bubble (non linear or symmetrical).

Interesting! I also tried CCDStack and I couldn't get a good result. Then I tried making an inverted blured/smoothed object mask in CS5 and subtracting. This initially looked ok, but the sky values were too clipped and brightening just revealed left over non flat background. But, one click in the exterminator plugin gave a pretty fantastic result! It comes with a free trial so go for it. Curious how it might work for you!
