Where can I get the Canon 450D modified?

Can anyone give me suggestions on where I could go to get the IR filter removed here in Australia?

Not too anxious to send it overseas.

I am aware of this service and this service

Hi Jethro I just got mine back yesterday, I was going through the same dilemma, send overseas for cheaper or go local and more exy. I went local (Melbourne) at the Camera Clinic I'm hoping to test it out tonight.... It took about 3 weeks to get back to me and I went full spectrum conversion. Might worth checking camera repair places in brissy too, they might off a similar service.

Great helpful post - Thanks! It's given me some more ideas on where to look... May I ask what you had done and what they charged you?

No worries, I have a canon 600d which may be slightly different to the 450d. I had the infra red cut replaced with a clear bit of glass the same depth to maintain autofocus. however, I see you are looking at refractors to use it with? If that's the case I think it's preferable to get an astro ir cut filter (which allows more h-alpha through than the standard ir filter) otherwise the colour is affected ... i use a reflector and it doesn't happen apparently.

Check out the equipment DIY forum section I'm sure I saw some good info there about a month ago. I paid ~500 ...
