Kit lenses are sold by Canon with camera's. Typically they are consumer grade. This lens does not come with a body as a kit hence my saying "this is not a kit lens".
In my opinion the photo's it takes it are rather good quality and certainly much better that a similar focal range kit lens that I had in the past but not as good at the 70-200 L series lens I have now.
Yes the lens has autofocus. Canon call it USM focus.
