Impressed with Andrews Communications help

My 6 month old hand controller ceased to function while tracking a few weeks back and with York Optics in Sydney now long gone, I was left with having to find my nearest Celestron dealer who turned out to be Andrews Communications. I contacted them with my dlemna, and my story as to how I dont have the receipt as the scope was bought for me by a relative whom, for reasons I won't go into, is now estranged. So Lee Andrews, within two days, arranged with Extra Vision in Brisbane, for a replacement hand controller upon return of my faulty unit with no receipt and the scope wasn't purchased from Andrews in the first place!

I felt this deserved a post in our pages as customer service like this is not often seen these days. My thanks to Lee and Extravision for their customer focussed attitude.

That is exceptional, indeed. Sounds like Andrews is really on the ball with their customer service.

I Have just bought a scope from Andrews after a fair bit of communication and i agree with you guys he has excellent customer service skills. He answers emails promptly and i wonder if there is any other staff? He indicated he was repairing some amateur radio amplifiers and collimating a couple of
binoculars and this was the Weekend! so at least you know who you are dealing with.

Never thought of it Striker but I've emailed Lee the link to this thread. Praise when its due eh? I sent the controller to extravision yesterday and called them to thank them also. You see so much of a non caring attitude for customers I feel these days that when you come across this type of service it should be praised.

I have never had any problems with Andrews, but a friend came up with an interesting point just recently.

Bintel did not have what he wanted in stock, but Andrews who did, does not have online purchasing which rather annoyed him.

It is amazing how much easier online purchasing is, and I agree with him, it would make Andrews even easier to purchase from.

Just passing on thoughts.

Thats excellent, and great to hear. I purchased an EQ5 from Andrews a few years ago, and was delighted with the whole transaction.

To me, this sort of service makes perfect economical sense from the sellers POV - Think of all the extra sales this act of goodwill will get, as oposed to the the few hundred dollars it might cost to replace the handset :-)

Well done Mr Andrews.
