I can relate EXACTLY to one.
Was doing a shoot once, but I was freelancing, and there was a paid-for-event photog there too. HE was hopping all over the place ike a blue a&^ed bottle fly, jumping in front of my shots etc etc.
He had THE latest Nikon, with the largest darned 300mm lens you could think of (I never asked - didn't need to stroke his ego). Swooping around doing all the shots, blah blah, while I calmly, slowly walked around doing the shots with my 50mm and my 28-135USM...
The photos went up on the eventsponsor's site. Every single portrait of his was facially distorted (as I thought they would be - typical improper use of this lens!). Needless to say, within a week of me posting my images online, the sponsor emailed me, told me they had refused payment to the paid-for, and paid me for mine instead
I edited about 200 for them (guest photos, model photos etc). Bought myself another 50mm f/1.2 lens and took my wife to a real posh restaurant... and still paid the mortgage for 2 weeks
Posers are everywhere.
I find myself using my 50mm, 85mm or 28-135 almost exclusively. The rest stay in my bag at home, unless I go to an airshow
