Why can't they...

With our advanced technology, why can't they make a microwave oven that returns the cup handle to the front at the end of it's cycle?

No matter how long I warm a cup of coffee, the handle always finishes at the back!
I've tried putting the handle at the back to start with, same result!

It's a b#$@%y conspiracy!

I'm sure you all have similar gripes?

Cheers

Chris

All you have to do is work out how long it takes for the turntable to rotate once and set the timer for a multiple of that. My Panasonic takes 6 seconds so 6*n secs always returns the handle to the front.

Chris while you wait for your multihandled IIS mug to be made you could always take out the turntable plate and your cup will be where you left it!

Ha ha we have an $80 Kmart branded Homemaker microwave and the cup handles always return to the front on the fast cook settings, 30 sec, 60 sec, 90 sec etc.

I have an Irish Coffee cup, which has the handle INSIDE the cup-given to me by a friend mocking my irish ancestry.

Mmmm, I'm a little surprised that an ATMer hasn't suggested a simple modification for microwaves?
Not an Arduino or Raspberry Pi solution, but something similar?

Program a chip that accepts the time set by the user, and adjusts the speed of the turntable to return to it's starting position at the end of the cycle.

I'm sure it could be done?

Bojan, Alistairsam, and others, where are you?

Cheers

Chris

From some research it is suggested that the cheaper microwave ovens only use turntables to cater for inefficient microwave generators and there are some commercial grade microwave ovens that don't have turntables

Being a cup of liquid (water) a turntable is in fact not necessary
