ED120 is here! But look at the price!!

Just checking out what is new at Myastroshop. The ED120 is one thing.

It's over $4000 for the OTA!! The Meade 127mm ED triplet from Bintel is considerably less expensive. Maybe it needs some time before the prices settle. Also better wait for the attack of the clones.

Meanwhile, Houghy, can you please buy both and tell us what they are like.

Wow....I will never pay that much for Skywatcher product....Maybe Synta's heads are a bit swollen with the ED80 success.

Lets see.
Televue NP101 $5000
Takahashi FSQ 106 $5100
Skywatcher 120ED $4100

Not a hard choice if you ask me....give me a Tak or Tele any day.

Tony

Saxon ED100? $1150??
It's a lot of money for 20mm of extra aperture.

Yes I ask Steve to let me know when it came in, which he did last week, and I kept quiet about it until he had reviewed the scope himself, which he did. So what kept me very quiet about this scope, you got it, the price........

C'mon skywatcher, pull ya head out ya bottom, thats WAY too much for an OTA, is the Gold colour REAL gold or what? Surely there has to be a mistake somewhere along the line. Will it go on an EQ6

I'd guess there's some mistake with that price. I did a quick search for overseas prices: $2200 Canadian at one shop. Either the price includes a mount or it is just wrong.
