NGC4945 Galaxy

To be completely honest I was expecting to delete all image taken tonight.

The moon was so bright and thought it was going to be a waste of time imaging at all tonight.....I was surprised at the result I got on this target it was much better result then I expected.

Imaged at my house Brisbane

20 x 3 minute exposure ISO800 with modded canon 350D
Scope 10" Meade LX200R F10 fl 2500mm
Autoguided with ED80
Mout tracked well again.

Calibration done in Imagesplus and completed in photoshopCS2
Hutech LPR filter used
Pretty happy with the result as mentioned.
Red bias is a still a bit too strong but thats how I like it...hehehe

excellent image tony like the stars, whats the smudge in the middle , you may need to clean the camera .

I manged to capture this galaxy in a wide field shot of Omega Cent. It looked like a promising target and your shot confirms it.

Again, I think the F10 ratio is doing you well, giving darker sky background and big image scale. Cant wait to see you re image this when theres no moon, will be even better
By the way, how did you find it in the moonlight, not visually I imagine lol.

Thanks Guys...even though a little too grainy to my liking I was happy with the result.

Scott I may not get a chance at this target again as it is moving too close to our Brisbane city lights westward.

Scott no visual spotting...I have not looked through my scope for 6 months.

My process now that I have the awesome SBIG st402XME guiding through the ED80.
All I do is select the target on my PC Starry nights then take a 2 second image via the Sbig/ED80....95% of the time the target is in the fov...great mount the Losmandy G11....then I just center the image using the SBIG like a webcam by selecting focus and it keep's taking 2 second or whatever time exposures you want ...once centered I know the guide scope is aligned the same as my imaging scope so I am now ready to start imaging.

It's great using the ST402XME as a guide/target spotting scope.....anyone want any eyepieces....lol

Very good. Yes the SBIG is great for that. Once many years ago a fellow I knew had an older model Sbig7, and he tried it on my scope, for imaging Ive still got the old web page I made up

Your opinion is spot on Seeker.....the red bias is a litle too much but thats how I liked it.....lol
