Smile Cocoon nebula from France

Hello guys,

This is the new project i just finished. The famous Cocoon nebula in the Milky Way located to 4000 light-years.

I used my ASA Astrograph 12" f/3.62 on my Losmandy HGM TITAN Goto mount. The CCD camera is a SBIG ST-10XME.

5 nights have been necessary to capture it.

4 nights for the luminance : 2 nights using one Astrodon clear filter, 2 nights using one Astrodon 6nm H-Alpha filter.

1 night for the RGB exposures.

Total exposure for the luminance : 14h20min.
Total exposure for RGB : 3h30min. (1h10min. for each color frame)

The image has been adjusted on my LaCie 526 art graphic LCD monitor.

The link for the image : http://www.poigetdigitalpics.com/Cocoon_nebula.html

Enjoy,

Florent

Thank you very much Mike

I never stopped the Deep Sky imaging. It is also a Great pleasure. And for my visual observations i just purchased one Sky-Watcher Mak150 on its NEQ5 Pro Goto mount with NAGLER and WO UWAN eyepieces.

I am preparing a new project for a next image. Thanks once again.

Warmest Regards,

Florent
