Haro 1-3 PN in Scorpius

2 nights back despite smoky and hazy conditions I had a go at this small Planetary Nebula in Scorpius.

9x10 mins ISO400. LPS filter MPCC coma corrector. Modded 350D, 10 inch f5.6 newtonian. Off axis hand guided.

Conditions turned out not too bad with the object just passing overhead when i started the imaging run.

This is a full resolution crop.

Mammoth guiding job. That thing is really small. Well done!

I thought I was the last of the hand guiders. Your hand guiding is perfect, unlike mine.

Very nice catch, it looks a bit like a tiny coffee bean. And impressive work with the hand guiding

Thanks again all.
With hand guiding, I orient the guide camera so that DEC is up and down and RA is side to side. I use the virtual reticle program Startarg
http://www.andysshotglass.com/StarTarg.html
I position the guidestar in the reticle and press fast or slow buttons on drive corrector to leep the star centred, making any dec corrections as well, using the manual slow motion dec on the mount. It works well. After the first sub is complete it is downloaded to the laptop where I will magnify it to inspect for any problems, if okay I proceed with more subs.

Lately the neighbours cat has found out that I set at the laptop and scope guiding, and jumps on my lap for a pat, so I have a ready made leg warmer
