Pelican Nebula in Ha

We had a good run of clear nights in Sydney lately and the moon is rising later and later so last night as I finished my now usual 20x10min run I though I'd have a crack at the Ha regions around Deneb as it was between my clothes line, the neighbourg's house and a couple of hedges. It's about 10(ish) degrees up for me. I had 6x10min until I lost my guide stars in the trees but got some signal alright. Few artefact as I copes a satellite trail and you can see the tree line rejection that was in two of the subs. I reckon I could give it a shot from a clearer northern horizon in the bush.

There's a big one here and a plate solve here. I remember back home Deneb being right up at the zenith. Oh well... maybe one day.

That's pretty good Marc considering the altitude. Nice job!

Cheers

Thanks guys. I reckon I could get a good result out of the burbs . I tried again last night and managed 5x10min. The seeing was worse than yesterday but I reckon I could get a decent result if I shot 5-7 subs per night. I could also frame the whole thing this time.

That's very cool Marc, that's about as low as they would see something like the Cats Paw Neb from Europe, yes?

Yeah that'd be about right. You'll be able to get these northern DSOs from your new site. You have a good dark North horizon. Maybe not in RGB but certainly in NB.
