Geikie Gorge Reflections

We had just spent the last couple of hours on top of an escarpment overlooking the Western Wall of Geikie Gorge waiting for the sunrise, and after trekking back down we were about to get back on our boat when I noticed these beautiful reflections behind the reeds where out boat was parked.

The water was still, the colours were beautiful and this shot topped off a fantastic 15 hours at Fitzroy Crossing before we started our long drive to the Bungle Bungles.

It's a 5 image panorama.

Thanks for looking, feedback and comments welcome!

Beautiful shot Mike! Isn't the light wonderful in that part of the world.

You might be mortified to learn that from the mid 60's to around the mid 80's,
there were investors determined to dam and flood the Fitzroy.

Somewhat worryingly, the idea still gets raised now and then.

It would be the pinnacle of naivety and greed to destroy something as beautiful as this.

Thanks Derek!
We're definitely spoilt with the ease of taking snaps these days.

Thanks Gary, and thanks for the info. That would be terrible!
We saw some photos in the local tourist information centre of the flood they had last year - almost the whole town was under water.

It's such a remote and beautiful place, would be a shame to spoil it.

Greg.
Thanks Greg, I'm quite partial to panoramas myself now. I've been trying to do 3:1 in most cases.
