Webcast of opening of ASKAP telescope

Australia's newest radio telescope, CSIRO's Australian SKA Pathfinder (ASKAP), is being officially opened on Friday 5 October.

The opening ceremony will be webcast from 12 noon Western Standard Time (2 pm AEST) and will run for about an hour.

The event marks the completion of the construction of ASAKP's 36 twelve-metre dishes and the start of commissioning.
