Have I photographed moons either side of Jupiter?

Hope someone can help out here. I aimed at Jupiter with my new Sigma 150-500mm at full zoom. So on the Canon 50D this equals a 750mm. Have I pickup moons either side of Jupiter?

I think the following is correct and seems to match your picture:

GANYMEDE - Top Left

IO - Middle Left
EUROPA - Middle Right

JUPITER

CALLISTO - Bottom Right

I think from Left to Right (and Top to Bottom) of image
Ganymede, Europa, Io, Jupiter, Callisto if it was last night
When exactly did Oddball take the image ?

I agree. I might have Europa and Io back to front.

I was using the August, Jupiter Moon Events on page 115 of Astronomy 2012 Australia. With these charts it is hard to work out the order for these two moons without the time that the image was taken.

It is possible to check the Jup moons position with CdC or Stellarium.
You only have to enter the exact time when shot was taken.

The lineup according to CdC is as follows (left to right):
Ganimede, Europa, Io, Jupiter, Callisto.

Great shot, yeh I was surprised one day when I got them with my 135mm on my Pentax K5.

No.
500mm is ALWAYS 500mm.
There is no such thing as "equivalent" focal length.
