25-4-05 Comet 73P/Schwassmann-Wachmann 3

From 1:30 this morning. The comet was just visible in my 10X50 Pentax.

6X180 @ ISO1600

Piggyback 300D with 80-200mm zoom (not a good lense) set at 80mm @f/5.6

Dark subbed (3 darks average combined), aligned and combined in ImagesPlus. Cropped and adjusted in PS

That's cool Paul...
Have you tried aligning them on the comet neclues instead of a star? The stars will trail, but the comet should look better. It just looks like you've got a bit of trailing in the comet...
But still an excellent shot! Well done. Is that Star-mate still working for you?
Cheers

Thanks for the suggestion Robby. I realigned and readjusted. The comet looks a bit tighter now.

Yep the StarMates are both still humming. I love the remote handcontroller, makes life so much easier.

H0ughy, I posted here 'cos I'm not involved in the observational discussion and this is more for the settings and equipment involved along with the image.
