M16 - Work in progress

Inspired by some of the other recent images, I've started to image M16.

Here is the first 1 1/4 hours of data - RGB and L.

I have more data to add. But at this stage it looks ok. I think I have a handle on how to beat down the colour gradient.

I also have some Ha to add - I just need to work out how to do so in PI.

Will post when I am done

Pete

Looks good, Pete! How did you sort out the gradient?

Rick

I just applied the DBE process in PI - laid it on with a trowel actually. You can still see some blue in the upper left and there is some funny business in the nebulosity to the left.

I think I'm closer to identifying the cause - but I still have some work to do to be sure.

Looking good.
I take it that you used the QSI 583wsg & the RC8.
Is it a cropped photo?

Yes, its the RC8 and QSI - not cropped.

It was a quick and dirty processing job just to see how the subs were going. It needs about the same amount of data again to make it less noisy.
